So You Booked a Bridal Appointment…

Now What?

Congratulations!! You are one step closer to finding your wedding dress! Pretty surreal right?! This blog post will help you get ready for the most important shopping day of your life!

Where do I begin?

We get it.. shopping for your wedding dress can be a bit stressful. At Boulevard Bride, our goal is to make wedding dress shopping a truly enjoyable experience for you and your guests. Below are our top 3 tips for making this day as stress free as possible.

We see it time and time again.. a bride who walks in with every bridesmaid, friend, family member, and in-law she could think of. And then 5 minutes later we also see the bride’s eyes widen in panic as we ask her about her dream dress and hear opinions from everyone but the bride.

For this reason, we suggest that you invite no more than 5 guests. This day is about you finding your wedding dress, not finding a dress that other people want you to wear.

You heard that right.. We’re giving you permission to scroll on Pinterest for as long as your heart desires!

Save photos of dresses that you like. Save photos of dresses that you don’t like. Save photos of the type of train you like. Save photos of necklines and waistlines. Save photos of everything that you think will help us find you your dream wedding dress. We love it when brides come in with a ton of pictures! Seeing what you like and what you don’t like helps us to weed through the hundreds of dresses that we have in store.

We can’t even begin to tell you how many times an appointment has started with the words “I’m just looking today,” and ended with the words “I’m saying yes to my dress!”. Wedding dress shopping is emotional; even for the girls who hate shopping. When you put on your dress, you’ll know. And there’s no need to look at others because nothing will compare once you find the perfect one.

Should I Bring Anything?

Strapless bra. Nude Panties. Spanx.            A Smile. Confidence.

We suggest that you bring a strapless bra, nude underwear, and a smile! Some girls also like to wear Spanx.

Please do not bring heels… you will be stepping in and out of dresses and we do not want to damage the gowns.

“I know you suggest only bringing a few people, but I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.”

If you’re worried about some people feeling left out, you can bring them to your bridal gown pick-up appointment. This is a great way to make sure that they feel just as special as the guests who were at your original appointment. During your bridal gown pick-up, they will be the first people to see you in YOUR wedding dress.

“What happens when I say yes?”

We party! Joking . . . kind of

When you say Yes to the Dress we will have you ring our cowbell (it’s tradition!).

Once you’ve rung the cowbell and gotten any final pictures in your dress, we will have you put your normal clothes on again so we can take your measurements. We will take your bust, waist, and hip measurements and match these measurements with the closest dress size.

After this we will take an “I Said Yes to the Dress” picture for social media and have you sign our Yes Dress!

Last but not least, we will explain your dress size and get you all rung up! 60% is due at this time. The rest will be due on the day you pick up your dress.
